Transparent hues and reflecting panels...

At the Morgan Library and Museum in NYC an installation by Spencer Finch,

Transforming a clear glass cube into an environmental stained glass quilt.

It doesn't look quite real, almost like a Photoshop experiment with colors and layers...

A second look doesn't resolve it, as there are also clear glass panels hanging from the ceiling,
      moving, reflecting from all directions....

a delightful abstract world,
embedded with bits of reality, like collages ...

Windows outside are turned into staccato patterns -

Inside, jeweled treasures find a competing - or complementary? light.

  1. Wow! I could spend all day sitting in there checking out the reflections. Thanks for sharing.

  2. I would either love it there or hate it there... depends. I have OCD, and not sure how it would make me react. Abstract has a way off being off-putting to some with my condition, though at times it hasn't. I would just have to be there.
